Bonus Material

So two things happened this weekend that have me adding bonus material to the upcoming release of BLACKENED…

The first thing occurred Saturday morning as I was sitting down to continue final edits. I popped in my CD of the Interstellar film score, and as I was putting the case away, I once again found myself marveling at the packaging. Besides the thorough booklet from the film’s director detailing the making of the film and score, along with full-color photos, a way cool star chart is included that displays the various constellations and how to find them yourself. These are the very reasons why, even though I download a ton of music, I still like to purchase CDs from time to time. You get so much more for your money, most of which you can’t get with a digital download.

Secondly, I was involved in yet ANOTHER discussion in a FB group about books in print versus ebooks. As my wife can attest, I prefer to read books in print. (Our home is FULL of them, both hers and mine) Just like with music, I purchase ebooks on occasion, but I very much prefer to hold an actual book in my hands. Many readers disagree, and to each his own. But after the third person in the discussion stated that ‘print is dead,’ I said ‘screw that,’ and decided to do my part to help out the cause of the lowly printed book.

So although BLACKENED will be released in both print and ebook formats, those who purchase a print copy will get a little extra something for their money. Included at the end of the book will be an excerpt from my next novel, COCKED SIDEWAYS. It’s a departure from the style I’ve written in the past, and I’m really excited to share it with you. So, if you’re interested, you now know where to find it…

Long live books in print!!!

Introducing, the back cover copy for BLACKENED…

Luke is aware of two unfortunate truths: Corwin Barnes, a sadistic killer with a bone fetish, is still out there; and someday he’ll come calling.

A year ago, Luke put an end to the bone harvesting operation of the barbaric Barnes, but it wasn’t without consequence. With the help of a team of doctors, Luke has finally dealt with the heart-wrenching loss of his best friend, the heinous crimes he uncovered, and the savageness he found within himself. Despite his scars, Luke has put the past behind him and is getting on with his life. Corwin Barnes is not, however, and Luke could never imagine the brutality Barnes has in store for him.
